This week's walk took place in the beautiful city of Bath. Steven & I went there for a short break and really enjoyed it. We only scratched the surface of things to do there, so we are already planing a return visit!
This was our favourite spot -Pulteney Bridge & weir. Our hotel was not far from here so we were able to walk past it each day. There was a children's maze nearby which we had fun trying to find our way to the middle of.
The impressive Cathedral in the centre of the city - we did not go in as we were too busy geocaching - so this is a to do on the next visit list.
The carvings on the cathedral were very impressive.
These are the Assembly rooms - famous in Jane Austen's novels for dancing and meeting people of the opposite sex!
This beautiful house is Cavendish Hall - its gorgeous - fancy living there!
Even the street lighting was classy and artful.
This is part of the Circus. 4 segments make up a round of houses. There is a beautiful frieze of detailed sculptures running all along the middle of the houses. I think this must be one of the desirable residences in town - though I bet they get fed up of us tourists taking photos of their homes all the time.
Beautiful pillars and pediments just around a doorway - what an entrance.
The Royal Crescent - perhaps the best address in town. There were lots of these 'Crescents' dotted around the city - very clever architecture.
