Week 26 walk - Pumlumon and surrounding mountains - mid Wales

I know I have already posted one walk for this week - but as we were in Wales and it was a lovely day - we went mountain walking and it was so delightful that I just had to take some more photos.

The walk centred around Nant Y Moch reservoir - it is huge and stretches for miles. The dam wall is particularly impressive.

We parked our car along the waters side and then headed up into the mountains.

We had a good track to follow initially which took us up to the first lake of the day.

Once we had made our way around the side of the lake - we then had to climb up to the top of the hill on the right. It was quite steep and took us a while especially as there was no path so we just had to scramble up the best way we could find.

But we found the hidden treasure at the top!

We followed a different footpath down so that we could climb up a different hill down by this river.

Again another collection of strange rocks.

And off to the most remote house we have ever found.

Another great way to spend the longest day of the year.
