week 25 walk - River Rheidol, Mid Wales. 20th June 2010

This weeks walk was along the River Rheidol in Mid Wales. It was a fascinating walk - starting at an old mine works, moving onto a weir, little waterfall, then a huge dam and open expanse of water and eventually ending up at a small shallow run of water - so in just a short while we got to see many varied aspects of the river.

This is where we started our walk -

The rocks all around - were formed into very strange shapes - great for clambering across.

After the rocks it settled down to a nice smooth flowing river...

..which eventually arrived at this weir.

And another little waterfall.

Onwards to this dam...

...open expanse of true blue water.

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
